I am finishing up a short (40-50 page) workbook on conflict resolution, and I would love to invite your thoughts and advice. I have already read the past correspondence on the topic here on Cohousing-L, but it seems like it’s been awhile so any fresh input would be appreciated. I will very likely want to quote or interview some of you, so please let me know if you’re amenable! (I think some of the old email addresses are no longer current.) Actual examples of conflicts and resolutions (or failures) would also be greatly appreciated. Everyone loves some true life stories! A little background: Although inspired by experiences in cohousing, the Workbook is not just for cohousers—it’s for individuals, neighbors, businesses, co-workers, organizations. I am presenting my own semi-unique method, and I get right into the nuts and bolts of it. The Workbook, which is nearly complete, is for people who have no moderation system in place and provides exercises, templates, and how-to advice. So I’m also looking for stories and particularly questions from people who have no moderation process available, like “How can I ...?” or “What about ...?” I also address the issue of conflict avoidance, and I enjoyed reading your thoughts on that issue! And I enjoyed Sharon’s insight about some conflicts not being so much personal or personality-based, as they are about people “caught in a revolving door”. This notice is posted on the open discussion forum at The Cohousing Life and you are welcome to join the discussion there as well: http://thecohousinglife.proboards.com/ Thank you so much!
