Yes, JICC participants are very aware of the cohousing movement!I (and others) have been presenting at the JICC about cohousing every year...
There is also a Jewish cohousing community forming in Berkeley, CA... (Residents don't have to "be" Jewish, but it will be a community with the Jewish tradition at its core.)
And I've started a nonprofit development partner called Urban Moshav to help other Jewish cohousing communities get started. We're part of Katie McCamant's 500 Communities program. There's more info at http://www.urbanmoshav.org/
I'll be presenting again at this year's JICC. Everyone is welcome. Best, ~Roger On 10/31/2016 10:57 AM, Robert Tabak wrote:
The annual Jewish intentional communities conference will be held Dec. 1-4 at the Isabella Friedman retreat center in Connecticut. Sponsored by multiple organizations, it is coordinated by the Jewish environmental group Hazon. Details at http://hazon.org/calendar/jewish-intentional-communities-conference/?mc_cid=ec9774bc9e&mc_eid=f67f71a443 I wonder if JICC participants are aware of the co-housing movement (and vice-versa)?
