I just finished working with a copy editor on We the People 2 (now available everywhere in print and digital) so when i visited Cohousing.org I was struck by the need for a copyeditor. Errors in grammar are pretty obvious to anyone who is aware of these issues. People write for email and the web much more casually than they would for something intended for print (or homework). But on the cohousing website the posts become “permanent” and new people who know nothing about cohousing read them. And many people who post there may not be writing for other outlets and thus don’t remember their English lessons. This is isn’t a criticism of the site or of the posters — they are good reasons for everything. However, some volunteer hours, even half hours, from those who are copy editors or well versed in copyediting issues would be a wonderful thing. Any copyeditor aware people out there? If so please contact webmaster Catya Belfer. She can give you editing access to the pages. catya Belfer <catya [at] pobox.com> Sharon ---- Sharon Villines Takoma Village Cohousing, Washington DC http://www.takomavillage.org
