I don't know whether people here are familiar with the coliving model
(or indeed whether it has been discussed here), but this sounds much
more akin to that model than to cohousing.
Coliving generally targets young people (grad students and recent grads). It offers private rooms or suites off a shared central living area and shared kitchen, and there is generally some sort of cooperative governance structure in place. It's not meant to be permanent family housing, although someone who could make do in a tiny house could probably live in a coliving situation indefinitely.
