It'seasy for those of us familiar with such things to forget that not
everyone is.  BTW THe free / Open Source Libre Office package
includes a spreadheet application https://www.libreoffice.org/
It's comparable to Microsoft Excel.

Also it is possible to convert a text list to a spreadsheet
without retyping using an intermediary format called
Comma-separated values format text file (.csv)
