I'm not exactly sure what would count as research.  Does anybody dare to 
compare the clustered housing management similarities between the fictive 
kinship groups "urban coastal cohousers", "ecovillage with profitable farm", 
"Christian survivalists building a family compound in Idaho", and "decades-long 
residents of a trailer park"?

Sounds like it should be a call for articles for an issue of Communities 
Magazine.
