In the long run, electricity will increasingly be generated from renewable
resources. Gas is a fossil fuel and is produced by increasingly destructive
methods.

A modern, tight-envelope house requires automatic exhaust fans and heated
make-up air or an ERV system (added construction and maintenance costs) with
gas.

After reviewing those points, it was an easy decision for us to go
all-electric. Those of us who like to cook are buying induction ranges.

All that said, we have gas in the common house as backup safe space in the
event of a power outage. In our case, there is no gas main in town, so we're
talking propane. But the same considerations would apply anywhere, I think.
