Hi Joann, Many cohousing/condo association legal documents specify standard restrictions on what investment vehicles you can use. You may not be able to invest in stocks without changing your documents. When we first organized Arbco we removed those restrictions from our foundational documents. We have our reserve account invested in socially responsible stock funds, municipal bonds, iBonds, a community investment organization, and yes, CDs. We place funds we won't need for many years into investments with higher benefits/risks. Janet Murphy Arboretum Cohousing
