Congratulations, Joel! I'm so happy for you all and am looking forward to hearing about the further development of Altair. Before my arrival at Emerson, the decision had been made to not allow short-term rentals such as Airbnb because of concerns about the safety of the children. Long-term rentals of entire units or apartments in units are permitted. I'm curious whether other multigenerational communities allow short-term rentals. We have owned our land for over five years and have gone through numerous iterations of ordinances to get here. Glad to share our journey with you. Meanwhile, we would like to know what your experience has been with Owners who would like to have a room in the AirBnB (or other short-term rental) network, or put their home into the network while they go on vacation. In general, we believe that longer-term renters should be considered "Associates" and can contribute greatly to community life, and therefore we plan to vet them. Your feedback on this issue, please! Thanks, Joel _________________________________________________________________ Cohousing-L mailing list -- Unsubscribe, archives and other info at: http://L.cohousing.org/info
