Happy Winter Solstice (Longest night/Shortest Day) Everyone!

*Earth's Position on Winter Solstice*
So many celebrations,
Our Ancestors', Our Earth's
Original shared perennial holiday
So many ways we name, interpret, make manifest
Of one shared longest night
Religious and non, spiritual, philosophical, scientific
We all can love, pray, wish tonight
Billions of flames,
Billions of songs, poems, stories
Have calmed the dark
Calling, celebrating
Earth's perennially-fulfilled promise
Of brighter, longer days after each longest night
>From the beginning to now
Through thick and thin!
May our purest wishes arise and manifest.
As the wisest among us
Move to make them so.
