While it is true that work goes into the selling of a unit, it presumably is part of the general work requirement. The sellers might not be on the "Real Estate" committee but would likely be contributing in other ways to nurture and enhance the community (Maintenance?) so that others are free to be on the selling committee. IMO at least, the motivations suggested by David Heimann while valid, are not compelling reasons by themselves. But to add to the conversation, another reason for considering some sort of transfer fee might be to control "flipping" of houses by charging more for shorter ownerships. We used that idea here but, in one instance, it too created hard feelings because they needed the money for their next purchase. Rod Lambert EcoVillage at Ithaca, NY.
