A few weeks ago CohoUS announced that both the Executive Director and the Director of Communications (I think the only two full-time staff) were leaving at the same time. I was fearful of the long months before the Board would decide on the Executive Director replacement and the old one was already gone. Hiring can so often drag on that all the momentum is lost and has to be rediscovered. A one year hole. For an underpaid position, we have had many of those. I was greatly relieved this week when the CohoUS board announced the new Executive Director. Her bio is below with all the details but even better, I looked up her TedX talk and it is fabulous. If you are looking for something to explain to your family and friends what cohousing is, or to remind yourself, this is it. She is an experienced presenter and founded a cohousing community so she isn’t just effusing over her imagined idea of cohousing. I highly recommend it. TEDx Talk: Cohousing: The Future of Community and Human Connection https://www.ted.com/talks/trish_becker_hafnor_cohousing_the_future_of_community_and_human_connection Bio from CohoUS newsletter: > CohoUS is thrilled to announce our new Executive Director, Trish Becker.
