many years ago, our community had a dedicated Treasurer-only computer for 
QuickBooks. It was very inconvenient because it was kept in the common house 
and could only be used by one person at a time. One of the reasons I wrote 
Mosaic (https://cohousing.site <https://cohousing.site/>) was so that multiple 
people on the Finance Team could work on the bookkeeping but more importantly 
so that the rest of the community could have access to their financial records 
as well as the accounting info for the whole community (budgets, team spending, 
etc.). I was then able to automate some of the bookkeeping like common meal 
invoices, guest room usage, HOA dues, water bills, eggs from chickens, etc. 
which further reduced the work needed to be done by hand.
