Unsolicited advice: Stay on this list and adopt a unique subject line so people
can easily find messages that relate to retrofit.

My experience is that I want to set up special focus lists to encourage a
focused discussion. I think it will allow everyone who is wild about the
subject to finally have a place to go full steam. Sometimes that happens for a
few weeks or even months, but mostly it is then over.

Unless the focus is the actual planning of a specific project that has
off-screen action, it takes a lot of people to keep a list alive. As in 200.
People are looking for information on a list and it takes a wide variety of
people to provide enough information to keep the conversation going. The list
goes quiet and it’s hard to go back to the main list. It feels like a failure.
