My neighbor asked me to post this: I am living my dream and moving to Alaska. So I am selling my beautiful CoHousing home in a wonderful child friendly community in the beautiful Hudson Valley. Built in 2016, this 3,600 square foot house boasts newness and pure comfort. The sounds of the waterfall can be heard from the back deck, creating a sense of tranquility. Sitting three stories high, the top two floors occupy the main house. The main floor has two bedrooms, two full bathrooms, kitchen, living room, dining room, laundry room, and study. The third floor is 1,200 square feet of open space currently being used as two more bedrooms. The third full bathroom separates the space into two “wings.” It also makes for a magical play space for the kiddos. The bottom floor holds a very large (1,200 square feet) one bedroom apartment, easily converted to a two bedroom suite with all the amenities a home could need. This includes a second washer and dryer as well as a dishwasher. There is a private entrance to the apartment. It can also be accessed within the house if you want that for extra personal/professional space. Built with top notch materials, the exterior is hardiplank. Central AC and heat with each floor zoned individually; meaning each floor has its own thermostat so everyone can live comfortably whether hot or cold natured. Also, making it more energy efficient. All together the house is considered a 4 bedroom, 4 bathroom home with an office, two laundry rooms, two kitchens, a 38ft x 6ft front porch, and a 10ft x 20ft composite deck. There is a ramp if useful. This home is one of 19 individually owned homes that make up Cantine’s Island, which collectively share: just under 10 wooded acres, views of a magical gigantic waterfall, an organic community garden, near a water-front beach on the Esopus Creek (more like a river), a boat house with ample kayaks and paddle boards, a wood-working shop, and multiple play structures for the littles. The Common House is central to the community and is the place where community members gather to socialize, dine together a few evenings per week, attend meetings and activities, or use for private purposes. Cantine’s Island was designed to encourage community, yet have as much privacy as is needed. It is expected that all residents participate in a monthly community meeting, grounds work days, committee work, and sharing of meals. <0S9A1123.jpeg> <0S9A1008.jpeg> For full listing and pictures, please visit our website at: cantinesislandcohousing.org <http://cantinesislandcohousing.org/> Read more about Cantine’s Island Choosing Community here: https://www.chronogram.com/hudsonvalley/cantines-island-and-the-hudson-valleys-cohousing-movement/Content?oid=15370914 Asking price: $789,000 OBO shivelym [at] gmail.com <mailto:shivelym [at] gmail.com> (646) 734-6366
