I would suggest you talk to those communities that are senior/aging in place
communities. They knew at move in that would often be the case that it would be
heir selling their homes when they are gone. I think they make a point of
having people talk with heirs about how to work with community in selling their
home when they are no longer able to help with that.

Subject: [C-L]_ selling an inherited cohousing home

Dear Cohousing-L,

I'm writing from Pleasant Hill Cohousing in Pleasant Hill, CA.

We have started exploring how to handle the situation where a community
member dies and the person responsible for selling their unit is most
likely not familiar with our community and how we have handled sales in the
past. As you all know, it's important that anyone buying a unit understand
how cohousing is different from buying a regular home.

What have other communities figured out about this? Do you have a process
in place? Do you have any documents you could share? Do people put their
wishes in their Will or Trust? We know the answers may vary by State. We
are a California condominium homeowners association.

Thanks for your help.
