Hi all,Yes, Communities magazine (formerly published by FIC, now published by Global Ecovillage Network-United States) welcomes article proposals and submissions.
Information about the next issue seeking material can always be found at https://www.gen-us.net/submissions . Right now that would be the Winter 2024 issue, "Across the Generations," since Fall 2024, "Politics," is already full. Anyone can sign up to receive email notices of each new Call for Articles by emailing me at editor [at] gen-us.net.
The article Mac describes would be right up our alley--although I also had the impression that Mac's aim may be to publish in a publication with a built-in audience of millions (22.39 million for AARP magazine, per latest stats) as opposed to the thousands (Cmag). We always hope that eventually millions will read Communities too--and the enduring digital archiving makes that possible--but for now, much of its intended audience has yet to discover it.
Incidentally, there will be a table distributing samples of Communities at the upcoming CohoUS conference--another reason to attend. :-)

Dear Mac, I meant to add to my response IC''s "Communities" Magazine. Perhaps they would consider a submission like this. The idea for the article is to compare intentional communities, especially rural communities, with blue zones. Blue zones and rural intentional communities each support: staying physically active staying mentally active healthy diet community These are the key factors identified in blue zones that support people living to be 100 and older. Here at Heartwood, we don?t have anyone who?s 100 yet, but we have some extremely active octogenarians. Does anyone have any suggestions of how I could get such an article published? I submitted article suggestions via the online portals for AARP and Prevention magazine, but both websites said that they get so many article ideas that I shouldn?t be surprised if I never hear back from them. I haven?t tried anything yet with big city newspapers because I?m not quite sure how to approach them. Thanks for any suggestions you can offers.
