In the last few years many more cohousing communities have
chosen Sociocracy as their self-governance and decision-making method --
especially newly forming cohousing communities.

Sociocracy appeals to people who yearn for more effective, enjoyable,
good-will meetings --instead of long, "go-nowhere" or stressful meetings
that sometimes can happen.

My five-week Sociocracy, Part Two class is Thursday evenings, starting Nov.
6. (Nov 6, 13, 20 and Dec. 4 and 11.) The class covers the meeting
processes Selecting People for Roles (roles in the community and in
committees), Role-Improvement Feedback (helping people do their roles
effectively), and Consenting to Circle Members (committee members). It also
covers Sociocracy's unique Circle Structure, and how to implement
Sociocracy in the group. Times are Pacific 4pm-6:30 pm; Eastern,
7pm-9:30pm.

it's not necessary to take Sociocracy, Part One first (which covers
Proposal-Forming, Consent Decision-Making and effective meetings) because
people get enough information abut these to understand and benefit from
Sociocracy, Part Two .(And my next Sociocracy, Part One class starts
Saturday, Mar 21, 2026, middays.)

When Sociocracy is used accurately, many communities have seen clear
benefits: * Better Meetings * Getting More Done * Being Better
Organized * Feeling more connected to other group members.

"People are happier and more satisfied and getting more done" --Laurie
Nelson, Cherry Hill Cohousing, MA

"People tend to have more energy AFTER our meetings than before." --Hope
Horton, Common Ground Ecovillage, NC

The cost is $175-$250 sliding scale. 20% Discount for groups of five or
more. * 50% Discount for BIPOC participants.

People seem to really enjoy the classes and learn Sociocracy well.

"I loved this course. Who knew community governance could be so fun!"
--Jeff Conklin, Riversong Cohousing, OR
