Coming to the Cohousing & Beyond Summit in Sacramento this Sunday?

On your way to our state's capital, stop off in the San Francisco East Bay
Area (Berkeley/Oakland and beyond) for some events this week leading up to
the gathering.

This Thursday evening we're hosting an (un)Common Meal at Berkeley
Cohousing. You can come and cook and eat together in a cohousing common
house and learn about the Summit and what it is like to live in community.
We'll share about rare openings in this and other nearby communities. While
participants pay for ingredients, we're offering this free if you're
relying on SNAP/EBT food assistance, as we know you're facing struggles
right now.

And then on Saturday we're organizing a self-guided "East Bay Cohousing
Crawl" with scheduled open houses in at least half a dozen area
communities, with a special focus on the affordability and diversity
highlighted in the Summit. Participating communities include:

* A long-established price-capped moderate-income cohousing neighborhood,
that is growing through neighbor connections (A couple folks from this
community are speaking at the Summit)
* A community blending #coliving and #cohousing elements, mixing renters
and co-owners for greater affordability (the founder is speaking at the
Summit).
* A resident-owned-nonprofit cohousing neighborhood with diverse artists
renting rooms or apartments.
* A tiny home EcoVillage serving homeless youth.
* A faith-led cohousing neighborhood with both new-build and "knock-down
fences" N-street-style retrofit community building.
* A long-established suburban community, the largest in the region,
offering its only in-person tour for the next six months.

Plus, on Monday after the Summit, we'll be hosting a hybrid debrief on what
we learned and who we met in Sacramento, featuring CohoUS national board
member Dyan Wiley (from Cherry Hill cohousing in Western Massachusetts),
leader of the Seniors in Cohousing committee, so we'll have a special focus
on Aging in Community.

If you're in the SF Bay Area already or coming through on your way to the
Sacramento Summit, join us!
