Caring for Cohousing members / LINK ROT & search tips

The broken URL http://www.cohousing.org/node/3156 in the quote below
is an example of "link rot" which is a big problem. Sometimes as in
this case it is because a website is reorganized and the document is
still there but at a different URL.

I found this one by searching the cohousing.org web site for the
article title using the site's search facility. The article is now at:
https://www.cohousing.org/neighborly-support-and-health-care-co-care-agreements/

Note that one can search a specific web site even when there is no
search link on the site. Searching the web (in my case with
https://duckduckgo.com/ (also available at http://ddg.gg ) for:
@site:cohousing.org Neighborly Support vs Health Care
also finds the article (and more). Adding
@site:cohousing.org
limits the search to that site.

If that fails you might try http://archive.org (aka http://wayback.org)
for an archived copy.

Details:
At http://wayback.org search for the broken URL rather than the article name.
Click on a line on the results timeline. This returns a calendar showing
times there were archive copies. Click on a date and then be sure to
click on a time in the little window that pops up. Then be patient
while the article to be returned. You may have to try multiple dates as in
this case more recent archived copies are just an error message.

I found one promising reference on the Listserve archive but the link was not
active.

Many communities are addressing this issue! Here's a helpful resource on the
Coho/US website from Sharon Villines from June 2015: Neighborly Support vs
Health Care <http://www.cohousing.org/node/3156...
