We planted trees right after construction 22 years ago and some are now taller than our houses. But we have done some pruning every year, and for the past 10 years or so, we’ve hired an arborist every year. If you haven’t tended the trees for 20 years, IMO you should hire an arborist ASAP, to advise and trim as needed. That’s a lot cheaper than repairing damage from falling trees or branches.
