Not only is it possible to build community-rooted housing on a 5,000sf lot, but 
now is a great time to do it. The landscape of American housing is shifting. 
Cities and states have begun dismantling single-family zoning, opening windows 
of opportunity for intentional communities to take shape in walkable urban 
neighborhoods.


In this talk, Erik Granum, an experienced cohousing developer, will describe 
his Gardenplex concept, which is designed to turn commonplace single-family 
lots into enclaves of shared living.
