Cohousing-L Mailing List: Questions on Articles of Incorporation

Sonora cohousing is currently reviewing it's decision-making and
organizational documents (CCR, By-laws, etc).

One document we have questions on is the "Articles of Incorporation", which
was needed for the original creation of the community over 25 years ago. It
is not clear if there is still a purpose for this document or if it should
be filed away as a historical artifact.

Any experience you've had with a similar document would be great to hear
about:

   - Did/does your community have such a document?
   - If so, was there significance to the document after move-in?
   - Has there been a need to update the document, and if so for what
   purpose?

We've not found much in our records about this document, which appears to
have been substantially related to activities of the community developer
(their name is throughout, but they are no longer involved in any way).
