Sharingwood has a somewhat wierd policy at the moment. We don't allow kids to display, play or show toy guns in any common area, but there are no restrictions of any sort on adults (or kids for that matter) owning real guns. We were going to deal with the issue of guns last year but the whole issue of pets was so difficult I think we used up all our energy for controverial issues for awhile and the issue was dropped. Our 40 acre property is posted no hunting. All of the parents of my daughters playmates, both inside and outside the community get asked a very pointed question: "Do you keep a loaded gun in the house?". If the answer to that question is yes, my daughters don't play at that persons house. It startles people when you ask them, but even those who own guns understand the concern. ----------
