Cohousing-L Mailing List: written rules/leaving

Thanks Rob S. for your reply.... wise and calming words, as always.  also 
thanks to others for the 1 or 2 answers a few days back. I had hoped to 
get a few more responses.  I still love the idea of Cohousing but it 
appears likely that I will withdraw from the Lake Claire Cohousing 
Partnership next week.  I want to give it a few more days to really feel 
sure about this decision, so that's why I am not saying i definitely will 
withdraw.

The group agreed to bring in a mediator for the next meeting, but because 
one member blocked consensus on authorizing any kind of payment, we are 
restricted to seeking someone who will do it for free, and i hear one has 
not been found.  I hope that a mediator will attend because i think it 
would help us out a lot.

If things go well, i think that I can salvage some kind of continuing 
relationship with the group, along the lines of what Rob suggested.  
however at this point, most of the time when i talk to the group as a 
whole or to most of the members, I get angry and they don't like to deal 
with me being angry, so it becomes a destructive situation.   "Burning 
bridges" is the most likely outcome of what's happening with us now.

Patricia tells me she feels the group has never really accepted me.  I 
haven't wanted to take things personally but maybe it is personal.  As 
someone who is very strongly identified with a particular minority 
community, this was a new venture for me to commit to a group where I am 
the "only one."  the one time that another one of "us" showed interest in 
joining the group, it was amazing to feel within myself the relief and 
excitement.  However, I never saw that person again.
