Cohousing-L Mailing List: Laundry Facilities in Common House

We looked through the 1994 archives for info about common house laundry
facilities, so we thought we'd ask what other communities are using,
what works, what doesn't work, etc.  If you are aware of any past 
conversations about this and can point us to the year/month they
occurred, that would also be appreciated.

Specifically, we will have 30 households at Ecovillage at Ithaca.  Our
current idea is for 2  washers, and 2 dryers and a tub.  Is this 
sufficient?  Do you use commercial or residential  -  are they used or 
new - do you use coin operated, or have some other way of tracking use?
Top or side loaders, service contracts, whatever  else  is applicable?
