Cantine's Island group are really stuck with what sometimes feels like an unwie ldy procedure. Our group is so small (twelve households when they will all have joined) that we can't do without the face-to-face participation of both full a nd participating members. (Participating means people who come to meetings and get to know us.) We recently admitted as participating members some people who live in Vermont, who seem to us totally desirable members of the group but who are gonna have any amount of difficulty getting to meetings--unless, as they ho pe, one of 'em gets a job locally and they can relocate. But we had inquiries t his year from Florida and California that we couldn't really do anything with. --Lee.
