In the Houston area, Lawn Boy has recently been pushing a robot lawn mower. A few years back, Radio Electronics featured a robot mower by another company somewhere in the northeast. Considering their cost, I would gues these to be in the class of tools which cohousers might be able to justify even if most individual families cannot. Has any cohousing group bought such a mower? ... for the community grounds? ... as a community project? BTW, I've only seen two such mowers mentioned. The Lawn Boy mower is solar powered, mulches, cuts randomly within user-defined boundaries (user must lay a guide wire), includes an anti-theft alarm (sounds off if you lift it), and costs about $2000. All I know about the other mower is that it costs about $700-1000 and comes in kit form. William Johnson 5638134 [at] mcimail.com
