I would also add to the pitch for radient floor heating: Its cheap, its 
simple, it works well. One of the poorest communities in our region 
heating their barn (commonhouse) with a home made radient floor heating 
system.  It costs them $300 a year to heat a 4,000 sq. ft. building. 
Winslow Cohousing also uses radient floor heating.
