I havent heard anything about pellet stoves in the thread about heating. This is a new idea that has been gaining popularity and lowering in price during the last 5 years or so. Pellets are made from waste sawdust. They are compressed into pellet form. Last I knew pellets were sold by the ton and getting cheaper as demand went up. Being recycled wood they never were too much. The actual stove was 95% efficient as opposed to open fire places 50% or so. The flue could be vented out the side of the house, it was that efficient ie less heat going up the flue. Pellets are placed in a hopper and fed into the contained fire box via an auger. The burn is so hot, soot is minimal. Fans are used to force the hot air into the room. I lack specifics as to btu and sizing. Thought I would pass along another alternative. Matthew
