I am forwarding this message from a family in my community. Please respond to them by phone at the number listed at the end of the message. LOW-TOXIC HOME FOR SALE AT THE COMMONS IN SANTA FE! THE HOUSE We built our house exactly like we wanted with every intention of staying in it forever, but, as we all know, things change and now we have to sell it. The price is $279,000 for 2500 s.f. of custom living, a true bargain in light of what the house contains. The first floor includes an entry way, spacious living room, separate dining room, kitchen with custom tiles, bedroom, bathroom and laundry/storage room. The floors throughout the first floor are Spanish terra cotta tile. The second floor includes a large master bedroom and master bath with a deep Japanese style soaking tub. There's also another room that can be either an office or bedroom, which opens out onto a deck with mountain views (there are views of the mountains from every room in the house). We also have an attached carport and separate storage area. In addition, there is a separate living area with its own entrance and its own bath. This area can be used as another bedroom, a guest house, an office or an in-law suite. We have two courtyards, one private and one that is open to the Commons placita. This house was constructed out of low-toxic materials, and provides a safe environment for those with allergies, asthma or Environmental Illness. In addition, the first story is constructed of pumice-crete which gives the appearance and feel of adobe. There are natural plaster walls throughout. THE COMMUNITY The Commons is a co-housing community in which 23 out of 28 homes have either been built or are under construction. Set on the historic west-side of Santa Fe next to the Santa Fe River, it has the feel of an old-world village. Each house has its own personality since each was custom designed by the owner and the community contains an excellent mix of people of all ages and is a great place to bring up children. We have meals at the Common House 2 times a week and frequent community events, the most recent being our third annual Feast Day. In addition to the kitchen and dining room in the Common House, we have a kids room, a laundry room, three guest rooms where your guests can stay for a nominal charge to cover expenses, and beautifully landscaped grounds. There's a whole lot more but we don't want this to get any longer. Oh, one last thing, the Commons is in Santa Fe, the City Different. That's reason enough to come see our house! Give us a call if you want to know more: John or Peggy at 505-474-5336.
