Cohousing-L is 'echoed' a couple places in entirety - the main one being
on Peacenet (IGC).  A while back I put together a statement on 
"republishing" list material.  It was reviewed and consensed on 
by several other active subscribers.  It's quoted below.  
Tho it does not state so, it was intended primarily 
for "republishing" in broader contexts where more people would be 
seeing the quoted material.  Newspaper and magazine
articles for example.

If you plan to republish information from Cohousing-L please 
get and read the file CL-REPUB.TXT from the archives or gopher or WWW.

The policy itself:

Policy regarding republishing material from Cohousing-L

Material posted to Cohousing-L is released to the public domain
and may be quoted / used elsewhere for the furtherance of
cohousing generally such as on WWW / Gopher servers or in
newsletters etc.  Those redistributing significant quotes etc.
should send a courtesy copy to the original author with
a summary of where it will be reused, particularly for
quotes that contain personal or "sensitive" information.
However lack of a response to a good faith effort to inform
of intent to "reprint" shall not inhibit the reasonable reuse.
Reusers are encouraged to honor any concerns of the original author.

I would consider these to be related enough and limited enough
contexts that you could freely quote cohousing-L messages.
Please exercise care to indicate their source and author.

I would concur with this tho I would not interpret the verb "own"
to mean that you have much control where they go after they are released 
onto the net.  They are public once you post them.
