First off, I suggest you check the cohousing-l archives. Several people
have posted messages about Oregon, Washington, etc. I have posted several
messages over the past year and a half, mostly about Ongoing Concerns, the
one place I know of in Portland; a copy of one of my messages is included below.

You can ignore two messages I sent (9/8/94 and 9/15/94) with subject:
Visiting Oregon and Washington.

My message from 1/6/95:

Are you aware of or in touch with Ongoing Concerns Cohousing, in the Sabin
neighborhood in north Portland? When I visited at the end of September, I
saw a small, loose, retrofit place (four or five houses), growing out of an
existing neighborhood.

You can read about them in _In Context_, issue no.35, or _Communities_,
no.82 (p.10), or an article in _New Age_ (dunno when). You can contact them
through Diane Meisenthelter, Ongoing Concerns Cohousing, (503) 284-8870.
You can also write to Diane at:

Portland OR 97213

If you come up with any others, I would appreciate it if you'd forward them
to me.

Thanks,
Jeff Hobson
