Issues of Living

The big day has arrived, so I just had to tell everyone. Today, 3/2/95 my
wife, Jacque, our 6 year old Peter and I completed the closing of our 2
bedroom unit at Highline Crossing. Tomorrow we move in, along with the
others in the first building to be finished. Pat, Frank and Janet, Jeff,
Eileen and little Andrew, Russ, and Jan(who can't close until she sells her
old house- prayers for a speedy sale) are our first neighbors. I'm so
excited! It's been a roller coaster 4+ years. Everyone I've talked to says
we'll like it. I hope so. We/everyone has invested a lot of spirit in it.
(BTW, we still have vacancies - '...won't you be my neighbor' )
Anyway, as a newcomer to living in cohousing, I have been following the
threads of 'Xmas trees' in the common house' and 'Sex, kids and religion'
and others (since I got on-line in February) with great interest. I'd like
to hear what other types of issues have come up for American communities.
What have been major community problems, joys, unexpected hassles or
benefits that Chuck and Katy might not have mentioned in the Cohousing
books?
