Karen,

Thanks for your encouragement, but don't let the fact that I'm writing a
novel about community living let you off the hook for writing yours!  The
world needs a bunch of 'em -- each one wildly and delightfully different.
 You could argue that almost every novel written in the last 100 years is a
novel about fragmentation and alienation and lack of community.  The novels
of the next 100 should be about integration and belonging and cooperating
with our fellow humans and the planet.  

BTW, mine is not utopian -- it's about the frustrations and the human
failings and disagreements and learning and growth it takes to be part of a
true community.  But I also intend it to help readers realize how enriching
and positive living in community will be, so the book will be a positive
vision of the future.  We've had enough apocalyptic futuristic novels and
movies. 

I'm only on chapter 4 so it won't be available real soon.  It may mutate into
a CD-ROM.  Course, maybe, i could publish it a chapter at a time to email
subscribers.  Any takers?
