Newcomer to the list here so excuse me if this topic has been
discussed before (just point me to where in archives).
I am from the Berkeley Cohousing group. We are in a strange
financial netherworld having bought our property as a tenancy in
common in February of 94 and are slowly working our way to a decision
on long term financial structure (anyone want to give me their two
cents worth on why go co-op or why go condo?). We are also slowly
making our way toward designs to add 2 to 4 units to our current 10
units. When it is all over we will have new financing, new ownership
structures and new prices on al of the living units. What a lot of
fun decisions to make!
My question today is does anyone out there have advice for us on how
you set unit pricing? A specific question I am grappling with is how
to value the amenity of the common house and split it between units
of different sizes?
Thanks,
Tom
