Sorry to be picky, but that's not the "worst thing about community".  It may 
be the worst thing about your development.

Simply because the embodied costs have not been studied does not imply that 
they are larger than the embodied costs of other construction materials.  No 
one has shown me specifically the value of pi, so am I to assume that 
circles do not exist?

One might well reply, "Buying a home is a difficult enough experience for 
the average family.  Why complicate it so by building your own neighborhood

saying "the worst thing about democracy is that hardly anyone 
votes.  I think that is clearly not true about democracy in general, but 
certainly could be attributed to the US of A, which we also call a 
"democracy".
