Re folks who don't feel the strawbale controversy should rage on in our little corner of cyberspace: Yes, when it gets into arguing about the minutiaie (sp?) and/or ad infinitum, I feel the arguers should email each other and not bounce it off the server. However, where two people strongly differ on a subject - they should feel free to make a succinct rebuttal or counter position to the list server. Use your judgement about what is too lengthy or too esoteric for the 500 folks monitoring this forum. I'm very interested in Straw Bale concepts/viability and many other building materials. Building the typical suburban house is *not* sustainable - not even close. I urge you all to look into the many alternatives. Ken Norwood lists them very succinctly in his book i mentioned earlier. I feel the coho server should take the widest possible view of what is of interest to cohousers because it is such a new movement (in N. America anyway). Furthermore, we should err on the side of too much info, rather than too little or too narrow. Personally I find it very easy to hit my delete key when I'm not interested. Haven't developed carpel tunnel syndrome from it yet, though i do it often! Rave on, Mike M
