The statistics for indoor pets vs. outdoor pets, which I don't have handy right at this second, show that indoor pets, especially cats, live lots longer than those who run around outside at night. In our neighborhood, all the outdoor cats dissapeared. Eaten by coyotes or owls I would assume. Great horned owls routinely eat skunks, and thus kitty is just a skunk with no stripe.
