Judy Baxter, Monterey Cohousing Community, (MoCoCo) BAXTER%EPIHUB [at] VX.CIS.UMN.EDU is the author of the message below but due to a listserv problem it was posted by the COHOUSING-L sysop (Fred). **************** FORWARDED MESSAGE FOLLOWS ********************* I Love the idea of a lower volume list- and am NOT volunteering. Here's another (half baked) idea - some sort of code for tagging at least some of the messages relative to what stage of development people might be in to be interested - i.e. 1- considering living in cohousing (this would be hard to define) 2- groups in early formation stage - sharing and asking for experience 3- groups in development stage - interested in questions of organization, hiring professionals, theories about design, research, etc 4- groups in the trenches, few choices left, interested in ongoing issues, issues of later development, moved in questions, policies, etc 5- people already moved in, I assume might be same as 4 or all of above 6- theoretical discussions of community Of course, you could read everything. But this would help us deleters. I just can't begin to keep up these days - I skim because occasionally there is something relevant, but we are long past lots of these choices, for better or worse, and I don't trust the headers. So I skim, skim, skim, and it still takes too much time. Judy Judy Baxter, Monterey Cohousing Community, (MoCoCo) -- Twin Cities Area, Minneapolis/St.Paul Minnesota -- e-mail: baxter [at] epivax.epi.umn.edu -- Resident of the "mansion"- the 1st 8 homes in a rehab Georgian building built as a retirment home in 1924 - developing 15 new legal condos - look like townhomes, on the property -- we are woken up by bulldozers, etc everyday, as the 1st 7 townhowmes go up. I've been to my lifetime quota of meetings.
