If you are in the Portland Oregon area this week you should check
out the "City Life" show. The idea was to take an existing 400X100
empty lot and demonstate how you can construct high density,high
community housing. They have built a total of 18 units--- A duplex,
six row houses and ten courtyard apartments. 

Although it is not a cohousing project it is an attempt to solve
many of the same problems faced by cohousing groups that are
trying to build in an existing neighbor. It was all designed
by professional architects and contains many ideas well worth
borrowing.


It is located at Se 13th Ave and Center Street. It will be open 
for tours until Oct 15 starting today.
