While Stephen Farley is asking business questions I'll take this opportunity to put mine out there. 1. Who can Define a proforma ? (I think it is a business outline of how you plan to achieve the building of your community). If I'm close to correct then... 2. Who writes this or puts it together? An accountant? Attorney? Business Plan writer? One of the things we learned at the conference was that we weren't addresssing the money issues which will actually get it built. These issues include actual membership thresholds and being direct about people putting money down (which the core group has done). 3. We keep hearing about a feasibility study (in reference to a piece of land we are considering). Is this different? We met lots of people who do this. 4. Would we be missing a step by going right to a feasibility study and not doing a proforma? I know this isn't the fun stuff about cohousing, and that's probably why we haven't done it. I would appreciate any guidance someone might have. You can also write directly to me although I think this is the stuff we all need to hear (at least in the getting it built stage). Much thanks.
