Yes!!!!

This is one of the best discussions I have read in a while! We are a diverse
group and sometimes even despite our ongoing calls for diversity we hit up
against our thresholds and need to revaluate just how much diversity is
acceptable. I come from a general belief that creating community is a
spiritual experience. Not religious, not supernatural, but spiritual.

I think Katie hit it when she said even though we call out for and crave
community, deep down inside we are frightened of it. There is something
uncontrolled about it. It sometimes feels like it has taken on a life of its
own.

For those of you who were offended by the closing again I apologize...for
pushing your limits beyond your comfort level.

Just for comparision, at the end of the 1994 conference we (RMCA) were told
by many people that the closing left them empty and feeling unconnected.
This year's closing was created as a direct response to those comments. I
can't wait to see what the planning group comes up with at the next
conference and who gets their buttons pushed then.

In Community,

Zev
