Rob Sandelin, thanks for mentioning the coho unmentionables again. - Is this a just question of accommodating the number of people who need housing ? If so, then density IS the issue. Stack 'em up, and git rich doing it. - I live in the mormon empire. It is rife with for-profit developers who are scrambling to develop every last square inch of soil in a tragic parody of L.A. "First time Tragedy... Second time...Farce." - We do not have to accept the imperative of unlimited growth. That is a capitalist notion. For capitalist architects that imperative is a guarantee of lifetime employment. - We must beat the for-profit capitalist developers at their own game. That means that we must acquire land, wherever it is, and develop it better. Better means better human relationships, better green space, better dwelling spaces, and carefully limited human use. - I'd like to personally thank all the non-capitalist developers, like Rob Sandelin, who are DOING as well as talking, and who have put every last penny they have into making the new vision a reality. The new cliche' of "sustainability" rings so hollow when it comes from theoreticians. - Scott Cowley SLC, UT
