The Cantine's Island group of Saugerties, New York, would appreciate hearing ab
out the experience of any group with a recreational and artistic facility that
would be privately owned but available sometimes to others. We have an inquiry
from a prospective member wanting to install a pottery shop, primarily for her
own use. We need to think out how it should be shared, especially by young peop
le--because the pottery shop will be on common land, not in the prospective mem
ber's house. We encourage artistic activity in our place; we just need to visua
lize the sharing clearly. Can you help with any experience of something compara
ble? If you prefer, you can address me privately at LEHBC [at] CUNYVM.CUNY.EDU.
