My thoughts about the whole urban sprawl debate: someone, a while back, said something to the effect that clustering homes and leaving the majority of land as open space would save it in perpetuity. That's probably the same kind of perpetuity that the Native Americans' treaties with the U.S. were - i.e., only as long as it's convenient for the folks with the power. Rezoning of open spaces happens. But, it's still better than nothing. Maybe we'll be able to make enuf impact on the area that we'll convince them it's better and not to mess it up worse sometime down the road.
