Berkeley CoHousing on Sacramento Street invites you and your friends to an Open House on Saturday February 17 from 1 to 3 pm, at 2220 Sacramento St, Berkeley (between Bancroft & Allston). Call (415) 549-3749 for more info. CoHousing communities are a new housing approach that clusters private, self-sufficient dwellings around a "common house" with shared facilites that encourage group meals, childcare and socializing. We are looking for new members to join our community. There will be 4 units (2-plus and 3 bedroom units) available. Most of us are living on site in order to build our community even as we are finishing the physical development of the project. We are in a park-like setting in the heart of Berkeley on 3/4 of an acre within walking distance of downtown Berkeley, close to BART and busses. Our ages range from 3 1/2 to 65. We are parents, grandparents and nonparents. We are creating a multigenerational, multicultural community with shared values about urban living and ecological sustainability.
