We obviously can't speak to its durability, since it's just barely been placed on the first few buildings (the Common House is just *weeks* away from being finished, BTW!). We did consider environmental effects, durability, and the rest but I don't recall the details now. Our decision, made in a rush of other details at the time, was probably based more on the assurances of our professionals than on anyone's personal experience or deep research. It certainly *looks* fine. I did live in Australia for four years, but did not hear of hardiplank until just last year so I'm not much help there. There are a few folks from Australia on this list; they may offer you more help. /\ Willie Schreurs /\ //\\ <willie [at] FortNet.org> or <71500.2232 [at] compuserve.com> //\\ ///\\\ Future Home: Greyrock Commons, Fort Collins, CO ///\\\ where the common house is almost done and the first people move in this month!
