Anyone out there interested in cohousing within an hour of Pittsburgh?

We have a group of a dozen people who are interested in developing an
intentional community in southwestern Pennsylvania or northern West
Virginia.

We are planning to have our first meeting in the next few weeks. If
you are interested in attending the meeting contact either:

              Robert Silber at (412) 341-8104

                            or

             David Wheeler at (412) 748-4884

             Email: wheeler [at] robert-morris.edu

I will keep the Cohousing List informed of our progress.

Anyone considering moving to southwestern Pennsylvania in the next few
years who is interested in participating in the development process at a
distance should contact David Wheeler.

A little personal history:

This summer, my wife and I visited the Winslow, Puget Ridge, and
Amherst Cohousing communities, as well as Cerro Gordo in Oregon. We have
been talking with Cape Cohousing in Massachusetts during their
development process. We shared in the common meals with the cohousing
communities and when we left we were saying to ourselves, "We can't
imagine living any other way."

We were inspired enough to go to Kathryn McCamant and Charles
Durrett's _Getting It Built_ conference in Rochester, NY last September.
Their presentation convinced us that the development process could be
tolerated and that it could be completed within a few years with
concerted effort and the UTILIZATION OF PROFESSIONAL CONSULTANTS.

This week we came across a notice from Robert Silber saying that they
had a group of 12 people interested in developing an intentional
community. With the contacts that my wife and I have made there should
be enough people to get the recruiting process going. The time might be
right ...
