It is pretty empty 9 to 3 Monday - Friday September til June.
Many kids use it in the late afternoon and of course all summer.
Many cooks start cooking early in the day, some before they go to work.

Most of us like to see the CH used. Loud music sometimes drives people away,
but other wise, it is fun to have more than one group at a time using the
space. We never have a situation where others cannon use the CH - although
for special events we can ask for no meals to be planned. But people can use
the dining room while others are in the kids room or the sitting room, etc.

How many kids are we talking about here? We have an upstairs room that could
be used almost every day 9-3 and no one would even know, it is so empty.Then
they could use other space in the CH on an "as available" basis.
 But if   they  want PRIVATE use of the dining room or sitting room or kids
room DOWNSTAIRS, I would say No.
